Founded by Ian (Former Special Branch) in 2002, Cobra has trained thousands of students and conducted hundreds of successful courses. These have helped advance careers and develop high quality operatives for the close protection industry.
With years of experience, Ian and the Cobra team have developed efficient training programs that give our students the best chance of achieving their Close Protection Licence. Our course modules cover all of the necessary knowledge required to become a Close Protection Operative, all of which are backed by personal experience and reputation.
IAN (FOUNDER)
Ian served as a police officer for 30 years with 20 years of that as a Special Branch Officer.
During that time he specialised in Close Protection Operations and training, which involved the protection of the Royal Family and politicians, including Prime Ministers and visiting international diplomats.
Ian was also a specialist in anti-terrorism and was commended 3 times for his work working alongside the British Security Services.
After founding Cobra in 2002, Ian has recruited some of the best instructors in the UK and has established an enviable reputation for excellence in the security industry. Ian has gained over 20 years training experience, including many years as a consultant for clients such as Embassies and Global Security Companies.
